Vermentino is grown throughout Italy, Sardinia and can also be found grown in France, even parts of Australia. This complex variety is aromatic, crisp, acidic and often has a bitter note, similar to a grapefruit pith. Sometimes more mineral than floral, Vermentino's unique complexity goes well with richer foods such as seafood gumbo, fried calamari and tomato-based dishes. It is a great summer wine best enjoyed cold.
