Rioja
Located in the North of Spain bordering with Navarra, the region is 100 km long following the path of the River Ebro. Rioja is Broken into three sub-regions that can appear on the wine label, Rioja Alto, Rioja Oriental and Rioja Alavesa. The red wine Rioja Blend, has made Rioja Spain’s most well-known wine region. It is primarily made of Tempranillo but is often blended with Garnacha, Graciano, Mazuelo and Maturana Tinta. The best Tempranillo based wines are believed to come out of Rioja Alto and Rioja Alavesa.
