Pinot Meunier

Synonyms:  Meunier, Gris Meunier, Farineux, Noirin Enfarine, Mullerrebe, Schwarzriesling

This dark-berried variety is grown worldwide, however it is most recognised for its large use in French Champagne blends. This variety is closely related to the Pinot Noir variety but has a much higher acidity. Pinot Meunier sometimes can have confectionary fruit or smokey characteristics to it. Like its relation Pinot Noir, it pairs with similar foods such as Pork, roast duck or roasted vegetables.
