Nebbiolo

Also known as the King of Italy, Nebbiolo is from the rolling hills of Piedmont and calls the regions of Barolo and Barbaresco home. Like Pinot Noir, the grape has a wonderful way of expressing the complexities of the local terroir. Nebbiolo has unmistakably high tannins, helping it age incredibly well. But it’s also highly perfumed with red fruit and earthy tones. Some producers, including ones in Australia, are experimenting with more easy-drinking styles too. For this wine, save your prime cuts and rich meat, like duck, pork shank or prime rib.
