Naoussa (or Naousa) is a Protected Designation of Origin wine appellation based in the hills of Macedonia, in northern Greece. This region has slight climatic influences from the Mediterranean, however has a continental climate with colder winters, areas with high winds, rain, and snowfall in the mountains. Naoussa grows grapes used for both red and white wine. White wine from the region is predominantly made with Malagousia and Assyrtiko grapes, and Xinomavro being the main grape used for making red wine.
