Champagne lying to the east of the Paris region, is one of the great historic provinces of France. The terroir has two major distinguishing features: northerly latitude and its dual climate, which is mostly oceanic, with continental tendencies. Champagne is the name of the world famous sparkling wine that we all know, named after this iconic region in which its produced. The three main grape varieties grown in Champagne and used in its production are Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay.
