It is such a pleasure to bring this exciting masterclass series to you. This 2-part series will guide you through a variety of expressions found in Piemonte, with the first class covering varietals other than Nebbiolo, and the second class focusing only on Nebbiolo… and the featured menus are just as exciting as the wine line-up!

Piemonte is most known for being home to the reds of Barolo made from the much-adored Nebbiolo grape. However, this coveted region also contains fascinating whites and other reds, which is no surprise considering its one of the most diverse and complex wine growing regions in the world. The combination of different sun exposures, micro-climates, and soil variation, to name a few, all provide a landscape for creating unique expressions of wine. Piemonte produces wines from the light delicate and floral Moscato, to the rich, dense, tannic Barolo, and everything in between.

Andrew Moody will be joining us to host this 2-part series, with Piemonte wines being a topic he has devoted much time and passion to. For more than ten years Andrew has been sourcing and stocking some of our city’s best restaurants and bottle shops with the finest Italian wine. His portfolio includes more than 200 Italian wines and as a regular visitor to the region, he is sought after to share his knowledge and love of the best of Italy in a bottle.

Our Japanese Hibachi Grills and chefs will join us on the mezzanine, pairing a variety of freshly charcoal-grilled dishes including:

  • Dry aged beef
  • Onigiri (Japanese rice ball)
  • Fresh strawberry mochi

A classic Italian menu, with custom-paired pasta made by our friends at Sal’s Pasta on Napolean Street. The Menu includes:

  • Cauliflower and truffle soup
  • Mushroom, Cavallo Nero and Ricotta Agnolotti (from Sal’s Pasta)
  • Ocelli Testun di Barolo cheese, especially ordered in for this class pairing
