THE VARIETY

Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc comes from the Loire Valley in France, but today the famously dry, crisp and grassy wines are found around the world, including, of course, Marlborough in New Zealand and Australia’s Yarra Valley, Adelaide Hills and Margaret River. With a character profile that boasts gooseberry, passionfruit, green apple and pawpaw, Sauvignon Blanc is bright and fresh, perfect as a mid-week drink or a weekend lunch with fresh fish and a crisp salad.
THE REGION

Marlborough

Marlborough is New Zealand’s most well-known wine region. Located at the top of the South Island, this region is the home to more than 500 growers and produces more than three-quarters of all of the country's total wine. Broken into three sub-regions, with the two main valleys Wairau and Awatere and the newer plantings in the slopes in the Southern Valleys. With a moderate maritime climate, the region is famous for producing pungent, zesty white wines made from Sauvignon Blanc. Other popular varietals here are Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris.
