Nero d'Avola

It is the most planted red variety in Sicily. It is a fruity, sweet variety with slight smoky tones. If decanted, the spicy, peppery notes become smoother. Pairs well with hearty, gamey meat dishes like a beef and barley stew or oxtail soup. The gamey flavours bring out the bright, sweet fruity flavours.
