Home of the Agiorgitiko grape, this appellation is southwest of Corinth in Greece on the Peloponnese peninsula. Parts of Nemea's vineyards are located at high altitudes where temperatures are low, producing high quality grapes and the lower alluvial areas temperatures are higher, lowering acidity in grapes. This region produces rich, age-worthy dry reds with complex aromas and quality rosés. While it may be ancient and full of legends, its arguably Greece's most famous wine region.
