Clare Valley

Around 125km north of Adelaide, the Clare Valley is a region of small, family-owned vineyards, forming the northernmost part of the Mount Lofty Ranges. The climate is warm but the hot summer temperatures are tempered by cool afternoon breezes and cold nights, which help grapes to ripen slowly and retain acidity. In turn the area is known for producing some of the best rieslings in the country, as well as red varietals including Shiraz and Cabernet.
