THE VARIETY
Verdejo
Verdejo originates from, and is the fifth most planted variety in, Spain. The pride and joy of the Rueda Designation of Origin (in Castilla y Leon), Verdejo is herbaceous and produces full-bodied, aromatic, high-acid wines that become nuttier with age. A great palette cleanser which goes well with fish tacos, carnitas and chicken flavoured with lime.
THE REGION
Castilla y Leon
Castilla y Leon is located in the northwest of Spain. A historical and ancient region, red wines have long shone here, the Tempranillo grape variety being the main highlight. There are nine Denominations of Origin (DOs) that make up the region, including Rueda, Toro and Ribera del Duero.
